I found parking in the Safeway plaza and came here with a friend. We both ordered the aka (red) tonkotsu ramen with a takoyaki appetizer to split. The spice was a pleasant level, it didn't interfere with the richness of the tonkotsu broth and the freshness of the mushroom and green onion. I ended up sipping on the broth a lot, it was my favorite part of this spot! I really liked the texture of the noodles here, it came in at a very close second. They're so chewy and not soggy at all. They don't skimp on the chashu here either. The ajitama was also delicious and came with a nice partially jammy/formed egg yolk. For the price, it is a lot of food!!! The takoyaki was also yummy and melt in your mouth, both dishes came out fresh with the steam still coming off of it. Our server was very kind and made sure to check up on us to ask if we wanted anything else. Overall I would consider this a great spot to come to if you want an authentic ramen experience! It was on par with some of the spots I had in Japan.

Great ramen, fast service. Convenient to grab food after Pilates. My vegan friend says there aren't very many truly vegan ramen restaurants in Folsom. This one is great!

Solid, but not the best ramen in the area! I arrived just before noon, knowing from past visits that this spot can fill up quickly. While it never got completely packed, there were several tables occupied for lunch on a Friday. I ordered the Kuro Black Tonkotsu Ramen, which featured a pork-based broth, BBQ pork, steamed cabbage, black mushrooms, red ginger, green onion, aji-tama (seasoned egg), sesame seeds, and Ma-you (black garlic oil). The broth was rich and flavorful, but the red ginger didn't quite complement the garlic oil for me. The noodles were pleasantly chewy, though the portion of pork felt a bit small--just two slices. If you're a gym-goer seeking a protein-packed meal, this might not hit the mark. Unfortunately, the egg tasted off as well. On the bright side, the server was very attentive and accommodating. The venue offers a fridge stocked with Asian drinks and beer, plus two beer taps. Parking can be tricky, as you'll be competing with Safeway customers and visitors to the surrounding shops.

Every time we're here there's a line. We opted for quickest seating option and it was outdoors. We were seated right away. Excellent service! Staff turned on outside heater for us, got our drinks quick! Didn't wait long for our order to be taken and the food came out fast! We enjoyed our ramen! Very flavorful and great portion for the price!

We had dinner at Ryujin Ramen with a party of eight, and it was such a nostalgic experience. This spot used to be one of my favorites when I was a student in Davis, and I hadn't been back in years. I'm happy to say it still hits the spot and satisfies my ramen cravings. My go to order is the Black Kuro Tonkotsu Ramen the black garlic oil adds so much depth to the flavor. The standout for me, though, is the seasoned egg. Its taste and texture are absolutely perfect. The service here is quick and efficient and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious as they have indoor and outdoor seating. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for ramen!

Food (4.5/5) The kuro tonkatsu ramen had plenty of flavor and lots of toppings. Wasn't a huge fan of the lettuce in it but it didn't take away much. The portion was large and it was very enjoyable. The broth, noodles, and soft boiled egg were the standouts. The chicken karaage and gyoza were both decent as well. Service (5/5) Restaurant was busy on a Thursday night but our party of 2 was seated right away. Service was very quick & friendly, and the food came out nice and hot! Ambiance (5/5) Medium size restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. It can get a little loud where the tables are closer together but not too bad.

Came in yesterday for a quick lunch before Xmas shopping in Sac. I love their noodles so much! They are the perfect texture--thick and chewy! Got the red tonkatsu ramen with my usual added toppings of menma and Wakame. Still solid ramen and it came out lightning fast. I think I was the first customer of the day and thr place was empty when I arrived. When I left 30 minutes later, every table was full and there was a line at the door. Keep thriving, Ryujin!

Still a good option for a big bowl of hot ramen (or rice) on a cold night. Prices are $15-$16 now. They still have a paper waitlist/clipboard for when it gets busy, table/booth/bar/patio seating. Some of the decor seems new to me, like the posters of Mt. Fuji. To start, the geso and takoyaki are best. For ramen I get the kuro (black garlic oil) and add corn ($1 extra) most of the time. If you like spicy, try getting the kuro (black) and make it spicy to get the best of both worlds. Rarely I will get the yasai (veggie miso) ramen and add a seasoned egg. I also like the donburis (chashu pork or beef gyudon) over rice. Their katsu don is pork, not chicken. Sometimes the chashu pork is hit or miss (in the ramen or as a rice bowl). My most recent visit, the slices of chashu in the kuro tonkotsu were a bit tough to chew. For the rice bowl, sometimes they're generous and you get intact slices, and sometimes the presentation is more messy and you get chopped chashu. Service is pleasant and super quick. Parking within the Safeway lot is only 1 hour.

We have always gotten it to go whenever we're are near downtown. You know how most food is not as good when it's not in person? Well this is always excellent. The care in how they package it and the traditional quality is 5 stars

Such yummy ramen! I have developed a newfound love for ramen recently and I've heard so many good things about this spot near Ice Blocks. It did not disappoint! I placed an order for pickup through their website. It was a very simple process and my order was ready within 10 minutes. The parking lot is huge but always packed (there is a Safeway next to them), but they have a few spots reserved for pick-up parking. I ordered the Aka Tonkotsu Ramen (red). It wasn't spicy at all to me but it was very flavorful. The beef was delicious and the toppings were perfect. I do wish they had something spicier, but maybe I haven't discovered it yet! I look forward to my next bowl :)
